Intro

A Grandfather's Legacy is a heartfelt project dedicated to preserving and celebrating
family history.

The client wanted to create a visual identity that reflected the warmth, heritage, and storytelling essence of their brand. My role was to develop a complete branding system that would establish a strong, cohesive presence.

Mission

The client needed a visual identity that would capture the depth of family legacy while maintaining a modern yet timeless aesthetic.

The challenge was to create branding that resonated with multiple generations while being functional for various applications, from digital platforms to print.

Approach

Early sketch phase of the grandfather concept — starting with a loose silhouette to explore gesture, posture, and personality. I felt some sort of action pose, would really help give the logo life.

Research & Discovery

To fully understand the essence of the project, I conducted research on similar storytelling brands, family heritage organizations, and historical design aesthetics. I identified a need for a nostalgic yet professional look that evoked emotion while remaining clean and modern.

Concept Development

After initial brainstorming and sketching, I developed several concepts that explored different typefaces, color palettes, and logo marks. I focused on using cool, watery tones and classic serif fonts to convey a sense of tradition and authenticity.

Design Process

  • Created mood board to gauge client's vision.

  • Designed multiple logo variations, and refined.

  • Selected a typography and color scheme that balanced warmth and professionalism

  • Developed branding guidelines for consistency across all mediums

Final Deliverables

  • Primary Logo & Variations – A classic yet modern logomark that embodies storytelling and legacy

  • Brand Guideline Book
    A comprehensive yet approachable guide that ensures the brand is consistently and accurately represented. Designed in a 1920x1080 format for easy sharing and reference.

  • Van Wrap Design
    A bold, mobile expression of the brand — bringing the visual identity to life on the road and turning everyday travel into a storytelling opportunity.

  • Color Palette & Typography – Earthy, warm tones paired with timeless serif and sans-serif fonts

  • Business Card Design – A polished, professional layout reflecting the brand’s core values

  • Social Media Graphics – Cohesive designs for digital presence and engagement

Brand Application

To showcase the brand’s real-world application, I created mockups of business cards, social media headers, and potential merchandise. These visuals helped the client envision how the brand would function across different platforms.
